YOUTH

YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE
An initiative of the IBCM Network Youth Advisory Committee has been to connect youth leaders from each of our countries from around the world to encourage and support one another, as well as communicate what is happening in each country, and to have input into the youth dimensions of the global conferences and IBCM Network. The initial step was to speak with youth leaders from different regions across the globe. These regions  include: Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, South East Asia, Central Asia, India, and Pacific. These and other discussions have produced the following exciting initiatives:

YOUTH AMBASSADORS
A network of youth leaders in each country who communicate the needs of the youth and also connect the youth to the activities of IBCM Network.

REGIONAL YOUTH CONFERENCES
In a number of regions the Youth Ambassadors are seeking to put on Youth Conferences to unify and strengthen the youth of their continent.

GO-SERVE
Following the IBCM8 global conference 8 Go-Serve mission opportunities were offered to allow international teams to experience mission in different contexts. These Go-Serve mission opportunities will continue and include wider opportunities following Regional Conferences.

GO-DISCIPLE
One of the greatest needs the youth worldwide mentioned was that of intentional discipleship. Out of that expression of need the Go-Disciple Project was born.

embrace YOUTH | encourage YOUTH | empower YOUTH

In the leadup to IBCM8 the team of IBCM Network intentionally connected with the youth ambassadors. Our goal was to have as many young people present at the conference in 2023 as possible – to be embraced, encouraged, and empowered for ministry and mission. IBCM Team, met the young church representatives, on Zoom and spent time in listening to what they had to say.

We discovered that even if they  have grown up in different parts of the world and belong to different local churches they  have the same struggles and the same needs. All of them communicated that they  struggle with a lack of unity in our churches, a lack of discipleship, a lack of leadership transition, and that  they are not clear what their  common identity is.  We have helped them to understand that they belong to a much bigger family than their local churches or even their nations. That there are young people, like them, that belong to the same network, and more importantly have the same Father and the same calling .
