GO-DISCIPLE

Time and time again we hear there is a big need for a structured discipleship programme. In many countries a lack of evangelism is not the problem, it is what needs to follow. The Go-Disciple project is an online and in-print modular series of studies conducted through an actively mentored discipleship program. It starts at a basic salvation level and step by step seeks to move each person through to greater maturity in Christian knowledge, character, and ability. The programme is designed to be contextually adaptable, able to be used to multiply disciples in all churches.

RWANDA

CHURCHES

The Rwanda government has closed around 8,000 churches across the country due to two main concerns:

  1. Building standards – relating to noise, health, and safety issues
  2. Church Leadership Training – all church leaders must show evidence of formal training

Out of the 168 Inkuru Nziza churches in Rwanda only 12 remain open, 156 have been closed.

Currently over 20,000 people from our churches now have nowhere to worship regularly. Please pray and support the churches in Rwanda

The Need

The closure of the churches by the government means we are now faced with the following significant needs:

  1. Church Buildings –The government has a masterplan which outlines the requirements which must be met before a church can open and operate. All church buildings must meet all building, noise, health, and safety requirements.

Funds are needed to improve some existing structures and to fully rebuild other churches.

  1. Church Leaders – Each local church needs at least one of the designated leaders to have a certificate or a diploma from a Bible College in order for a church to remain open. Also, those who lead the Inkuru Nziza Church of Rwanda on a provincial or national board level must hold a Bachelor Degree in Theology recognized by the Rwanda Higher Education Council.

We are thankful that the International Training Project, accredited by ACCS, (Australian College of Christian Studies) commenced formal Diploma and Degree training with the support of AMT (Australians in Mission Together) in 2022. However, further funds are needed to continue and expand leadership training to enable us to meet the requirements placed on church leaders.
