It is frightening to see the pictures of the flood in areas of Nordrhein-Westfalen and Rheinland-Pfalz. It is unbelievable how much distress people have experienced in a very short time. Many have lost their livelihood. We are concerned and sad that so many people also lost their lives.
We want to take part and help. We pray that God will intervene in a practical way and help the people which are affected. We pray that the Lord Jesus Christ will meet people in this misery and that they will find salvation and support in Him.
Many have asked us if it is possible to help financially. You are welcome to donate to the Foundation of the Brethren Churches with the purpose “Katastrophenfond”. At present, we are not aware of any damage to church buildings of Brethren assemblies. However, some brothers and sisters from Brethren churches have been hit hard. We are in contact with brothers and sisters who are providing practical help in the disaster area. There will be many opportunities to help people there and also to support them financially. And we pray that they will be touched by God’s love.
